It’s been a great year for Doug Tuttle. Peace Potato came out early in the year and is a strong contender for album of the year. Recently Tuttle also shared his first solo record, called Deeper Peace, with us. It was originally recorded in 2008 – that is, before the first MMOSS album. According to Tuttle, Burger put it out on a cassette “in 2011 or 2012”.
It’s a great mini-album in all its playfulness. It actually reminds me more of his new duo with Matt Lajoie. That was another record Doug Tuttle released this year: American Primate. That’s also out on cassette from Burger and features twin, improvisational guitar playing.
