Here’s the second 45, this one from Denmark and The Meteors who first recorded as Englishman Jimmy Scott’s backing band. This peculiar 45, with the lead guitarist singing, actually has an a-side that doesn’t feature the band at all, instead Bilsbo is singing over tracks laid down by German beat group The Rattles. “Anytime” is a great beat number with a fantastically sloppy 12-string solo, and has been compiled on Pebbles and Copenhagen Beat. All of the bands’ singles are available on the cd Danish Beatcookies Vol. 2 and there’s a brief website here. Life was a small independent label and googling only turns up two sold copies of this 45, unfortunately.
