The long-awaited debut LP from Brown Recluse is finally here, after many years of refining and polishing. Panoptic instrumentation and inspired songcraft from our favourite disciples of The Zombies. Hear one of the tracks over at Slumberland, and the best track in my opinion, “Golden Sun”, below. If you haven’t got their free compilation of odds and ends Panoptic Mirror Maze, you should do so now.
Slumberland also have an 8-track 12″ out by a new band called Brave Irene. Included in their numbers is Rose Melberg (Tiger Trap, The Softies) and they sound not unlike The Aislers Set, in fact. Some other records with a high turnover here recently have been:
The Pheromoans It Still Rankles LP (just out on Convulsive)
Heavy Cream Danny LP (out last year on Infinity Cat)
Sea Pinks Peripheral Vision 12″ (Neil from Girls Names on his own label Caff/Flick)
Beach Fossils/Wild Nothing – Gruesome Flowers 7″ (Captured Tracks tribute to The Wake, out on Record Store Day)

Add Yours“Zombie dispicles?” I always thought they sounded more like Belle and Sebastian (with synths and songs that are not about love) and some of their guitar licks are straight out of Led Zeppelin… still a great band!!!
